Great for all occasions March 23, 2006 Brandon Solomon (N. Va, USA) 32 out of 32 found this review helpful
These sandals have got to be the best I have every worn. They go with any outfit. They look great with khaki, jean, or shorts. They can be worn during hiking trips without the fear of the soles being punctured by brush.
It's rare to see, but the Betula spinoff of Birkenstock comes and goes every couple years or so. The pair Im replacing are Betulas and I bought them 3yrs ago. As it turns out, you can have Birkenstock sandals repaired over time as long as the cork isnt too badly damaged. All one has to do is take them to a liscensed dealer and 25.00 later, you have a repaired pair of sandals.
Other brands can come up with knockoffs, but nothing matches a true anatomically correct Birkenstock.
I suggest going to a store that sells Birkenstocks and seeing what size your largest foot is before buying online so as to avoid the hassle of having to mail back the sandals and trying to get the correct size. Once you have all the necessary info, you are set to buy them to your feet's content. You wont regret buying these sandals. The comfort is unmatched. It doesnt matter if you are using them around the house or taking them on a tour of a big city. They wont let your feet become weary.
Cheaper Birks June 24, 2007 Brett Edward Sherman (Mount Rainier, MD) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've owned two pairs of Birkenstocks and one pair of Betula's that I'm now replacing after 4 years. I've found that the Betulas last about as long as the Birkenstocks. They're also as comfortable. I've never successfully had my Birkenstocks repaired. At some point they simply wear out and are irreparable. Between paying the $25 (more in this area) and having to find a place that will actually repair them, driving there twice and all the time it takes, it's a better deal to just buy a pair of these.

Betulas ROCK!!! March 26, 2008 DragonLady1958 (Charles City VA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I got the Betula Mocha Brown Nubuck Backstrap Sandal simply because I couldn't afford the actual Birkies. I had to get some type of "good" sandal because as I've gotten older, I have more foot problems. I've only worn these for one day, and my feet do NOT hurt!!! It's been weeks since my feet haven't hurt in one form or another. If you have plantar fascialitis (sp?), I highly recommend these sandals. So far, they're a 5-star PLUS!!
