| Customer Reviews: Birkenstock Arizona is Still the King of Sandals! November 15, 2008 John C. Hitchen (Berkeley, CA USA) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I have been wearing Birkenstock Arizona footprint sandals since the mid-1970's, and no other brand or style can compare to them. They are the most simple and basic sandal available, though certainly not the cheapest. But they last for many years, soothe and strengthen the wearer's feet, and in my opinion look good. Their only drawback is their usual high cost of over $100 retail. I searched the internet for a good price and stumbled across these from Amazon. They were $50 off retail, and come with Amazon's usual no-tax and no shipping cost policy. Other sandals come and go, but with the Birkenstock Arizona, most wearers are going to wear them for as many years as it takes to wear them out!
Birkenstock review 44 December 12, 2008 Douglas Martz (Padre Island) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Great shoe. Fast shipment. They were delivered undamaged and with the Birkenstock quality you would expect.
These sandles are the most comfortable to wear and will last. They form fit to the individual.
As always... July 3, 2007 ms. tree (Colorado) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
Birkenstock produces a high quality, comfortable, and attractive sandal. The rugged yet stylish look of the cortina leather makes it versatile enough to wear from a walk in the park straight to a casual dining restaurant. Although most of traditional Birkenstock colors and materials are appropriate for men and women, the cortina brown definitely has a masculine look. For women my choice is the Arizona in taupe or navy suede, but my fiance love the durability of the hard leather.
Favorite sandals March 13, 2009 Avg Guy They're birks. What more can you say? I've never tried the knock-offs. This is my second pair. I wear the soles out of them. High arches might pain you until you get them broke in. After that, each walk feels like a massage. Keep them dry, they will start getting nasty on the foot bed.
A Birkenstock Convert July 1, 2010 D. S. Bornus (St. Paul, MN) For years I considered Birkenstocks to be the shoe for nerds, and wouldn't even think of wearing them. Then one summer I was on my feet all day at the Minnesota State Fair, walking 12+ hours on concrete without a break, when I happened across a booth selling Birkenstocks. My feet were throbbing, so just for the heck of it I tried on a pair. They felt wonderful! I was an instant convert, and bought them on the spot. As I continued walking around the fair, it felt like I was getting a foot massage with every step, and my feet were renewed for more miles of walking.
Now I wear my Birkenstocks all the time, except when I HAVE to wear dress shoes for work.
Give them a try - I think you will be pleasantly surprised, as I was.
